Exploring the skies of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom reveals numerous mysteries left behind by an ancient civilization. Among the most fascinating discoveries are twelve stone tablets resting on unique star-shaped islands high above the surface. Finding each stone tablet location allows players to complete the Messages from an Ancient Era side adventure while unlocking valuable lore and rewards.

Starting the Messages from an Ancient Era Quest

To begin collecting stone tablets, players must first inspect the fallen stone structure located at Lookout Landing. After speaking with the researcher Wortsworth, players are directed to his laboratory in Kakariko Village to officially start the questline. Having the Purah Pad camera unlocked beforehand is essential for snapping clear pictures of each inscription.

Locating Tablets in the Northern Sky Archipelagos

The northern regions of the sky map house several tablets scattered across various archipelagos. Players can utilize Skyview Towers like Rospro Pass, Pikida Stonegrove, and Thyphlo Ruins to launch into the air and glide toward these floating platforms. Navigating to the West Hebra, East Hebra, and North Hyrule Sky Archipelagos will reveal star-shaped islands containing the ancient texts.

Finding Tablets in the Eastern and Southern Regions

Venturing toward the eastern and southern areas opens up additional sky islands near Eldin, Lanayru, and Necluda. Reaching these isolated islands often requires upgrading Link's stamina meter or consuming stamina-replenishing elixirs during long glides. Upon landing on certain islands, the tablet center may plummet to the surface, requiring players to track it down below to take a picture.

Exploring the Western Archipelagos and Completing the Quest

The final set of stone tablets resides within the Gerudo sky regions, including the North and East Gerudo Sky Archipelagos. Using the Gerudo Canyon and Gerudo Highlands Skyview Towers provides the necessary elevation to reach these distant flower-shaped structures. Once all twelve photographs are secured, returning to Wortsworth in Kakariko Village rewards players with substantial rupees and a special fabric.
